Lack of talent and depth get built over time. Always hate to loose guys that look good on paper, however if we add 5 or 6 every year then loosing 1 here and there isn't the end of the world.

I think most of the time when coaches make these statements they are trying to inspire guys... i don't think they normally think guys will just pack their bags. But that's obviously telling of the type of guys they have on the team

I often wonder if the buy in isn't necessarily culture. but scheme/philosophy. Maybe some of the guys don't see the scheme (either side?) making improvements. I will concede that we have gone from 100% no accountability and a completely different scheme (another year of square peg round hole), but it's getting old. Year 2 game 7 and you are complaining about the basics? That would pi$$ me off as a player. Same with not saying "I (we) were out coached". "We need to get the guys in a better position to win". "Get the right plays called" etc.....That's just me. Sometimes you have to point the thumb.

Scott Frost has more conference championships in two years of being a head coach (and more undefeated seasons) than Mike Riley has in a CAREER.
And you're questioning what "scheme" works for the players? Seriously....

Yep. A scheme predicated on chunk plays wont work in the B1G. We've had 17 in 3 games....3 TD's (one each of our last 3 games).....So yea, IMHO, our scheme needs work.
Go back and read my posts the years under Riley. I hated the hire when it was announced and it only grew through the 3 years he was here....Thinking I was EVER a Riley fan is insane.
And yea, I'm a player and we keep running Mo off tackle, continue the screen pass, have and offense that ranks. Our O is in the tank. And if it was better last year, guess what. The stars of the O were 4 Riley guys led by a Frost guy....
Here is our O compared to last year. So yea, as a player I'm wondering WTF....and looking at the staff to introduce plays on the O to help me from getting my a$$ kicked. Misdirection, shuffle pass, counters, traps, draws, quick slants, motion from different sets....
I'm not going to blindly follow Frost and give him a pass because he's Frost. He owns some of this sh!t show.

Rumbling on HI is saying Mo is out for an extended period of time due to his conduct detrimental to the team or he may just be gone and Frost will address at this week’s news conference.

Its been discussed elsewhere but feeling is he is off the team for good. Love me some Frost but that initial recruiting class is now looking very thin. Luckily we have supplemented with a great class behind it and another one coming.

Coaches’ first classes after taking over can have a lot of turnover and misses. The coaches are trying to fill a class quickly and don’t have the ability to develop relationships and give long evaluations. Frost even had it more challenging with that year being the first class with the early signing period in December. Frost was forced to take chances on talent, and sometimes they don’t end up panning our.
That first recruiting class was while he was pulling double duty, so there's going to be several misses on it.

I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking he has to change up some things. I’d be more than happy to send him an email if you can get me in touch with him.....and again, I THINK FROST IS THE RIGHT HIRE. THE RIGHT GUY FOR THE JOB, but I’m not blindly following him thinking that he is 100% correct in all that he’s done. He’s a grown man making millions, he is culpable in what’s happening....
