What. WHAT!?!?!?!??!
Pretty huge news. Not a surprising pivot to Dr. Doom after Jonathan Majors blew up their Kang plans. I guess the easy interpretation is that Dr Doom will be a Stark variant that went mad, but idk how I feel about it in general. There's a way it could be great and there's a lot of ways it could be more of the same underwhelming post-endgame convoluted storytelling relying more and more on cameos and nostalgia because nobody cares about the new characters they've been trying to spotlight.
Couldn't care less about the Russos unless they've got Markus and McFeeley on board writing as well.
I thought there was an easy fix, even with Jonathan Majors being an idiot. Just have a new Kang variant from another universe. He doesn't have to look the same/be the same person. They have already set that precedent with Mr. Fantastic as it will be two different actors that look nothing alike. They could have easily continued the Kang storyline with a new actor. Though I'm not mad at this pivot to Dr. Doom with RDJ.
How does this work? Are characters just going to ignore the resemblance between Iron Man and Dr. Doom? Or are they supposed to look alike?

I think part of the Kang story necessarily involves dozens or hundreds or thousands of Kang variants, and there's no easy way to explain away none of them looking like the tons we already saw that all looked alike. Plus, outside of Majors' trouble, the fans weren't really responding to Kang in an excited way like they did with the breadcrumbs leading to Thanos.
