Avery Moss - updates - 1/9 **readmission denied**

this is unfortunate, but to blame anyone but moss is surprising. he put himself into this precarious situation. he may have had a good chance to get reinstated, but it was never more than a chance. and times have changed. i rather have the university look bad for erring on the side of caution in this case.

"I definitely talked to the Dean of Students (last year) and they told me I'd have a really good chance of getting in," Moss said. "They weren't allowed to fully tell me I could come back because it was uncertain, but I'd been talked to by people that helped make this decision and they told me you should be able to get into the University come December or January."

It sounds like he did get terrible advice ... from the Administration.

So he says.
and how is that terrible advice? sounds pretty honest. note the bold.

So unless he physically touched her it wasn't sexual assault in any state.
I thought I read before that, at least in Illinois, flashing could be considered sexual assault. Perhaps I'm wrong. There's a first time for everything....

Freedom to DE

I assume they will also sign 4 DE's and about 5 LBers, with the thought that a few of the LBers might play some DE

"I did enough to get my letterman's jacket here at Nebraska and I'm going to keep that forever," Moss said. "I will always be a Husker at heart.

"I can't look at all this negatively. It was great being here. I'll probably never have as good of an experience as I had here. It's just time for me to move on. I have to find something else."

Said he can live with the universities decision. Auburn and Zona are interested.

You can debate all you want whether he should have been let back in but it is complete bullsh#t they waited until 3 days before classes. IMO this should have been resolved a month ago to give him time to teansfer. Disappointed.
He could have transferred at any time. No one was making him wait for the university's decision.
ya well he routinely met with dean of students and it sounds like they gave him guidelines he had to follow. So yes they should have at least had the decency to give him more time to transfer then 3 days.

He'll be fine. Illinois, for example, doesn't start back until the 20th. My advice to him is to keep his pants zipped up from now on, and he'll be ok.

In hindsight it looks like it would have been better for Moss to have transferred immediately. This sucks for his college career.

Having said that, he has only himself to blame. There are 100+ kids on that team who aren't banned from campus because they behaved properly. So it goes.

At least the young lady he offended won't have to worry about running into him on campus. That's probably a relief.

Ironic how you feel the university should have decency but not Moss.

Good on Moss for taking this in stride. Have to think he was being led to believe there was a good chance at readmission if he stuck around this long. Not excusing his original crime by any means but the University really botched this, not from a football standpoint but from a human standpoint.

Ya I never said that. I'm fine with the decision but it should have been made in a timely manner. You can't tell me they made this decision last night or this morning. Moss was an idiot and is now paying for it. Just would have liked them to give him a quicker decision.
