Best running back for 2013

I think a lot depends on this season. Both guys are now year 2 in the system. By all accounts Bo wants to limit Rex's carries so we should see more of them. I expect Bo to follow his "he who practices better plays mantra" so we could see AA one week and Green the next. Rex has the knack of very rarely losing yrds and always seemed to be able to lean and get the extra yrds when being tackled. Both AA and Green will have t show they can consistently run between the tackles and get some tough yrds. Bouncing to the outside doesn't mean you are good back. The guys (RB's) have to play within the scheme and the plays called. Helu, IMO, was great at this. Hit the hole and gone. Same with Rex, great vision and patience. This comes with time and experience.

Morrow might be the question mark. Ron Brown says he is a FB playing like a RB or words to that effect. 250 lbs is a load. Against a CB or Safety in the open field he is/would be a nightmare to bring down. Not saying he would be the "it" guy, but he could definitely be a change of pace back. Kind of like a true "Thunder and Lightning" combo.

Regardless, I would love to see someone this year fill the role like Lucky did catching the passes out of the backfield. Something that, IMO, we have neglected since he left.

Green appears to be able to hold onto the rock better than Ameer.

Yes someone can now quickly run to the Shed and put this in the out of context thread. Doesn't have the same effect since I called you out for doing it in the same post though.

Done

I like both, I think both are going to be very good backs for the Huskers. I think they'll get about the same amount of carries each year throughout there careers

I think one will emerge.
That is the thing I am really hoping for across the board is that guys step up and start to separate themselves. I think that is the reason, at least in the beginning, we were seeing AA, Green and Heard same with the rotation at DB. I would obviously like there to be no drop off from the 1's to 2's like in the long history of NU, but in a log jam at positions, clear talent emerging and stepping out would be awesome. That is what we really need to take it to the next level.

I did lol pretty hard at the pandering for the nickname approval.

Regardless, I think it's too early to tell, just as others have mentioned.

If Green can add on maybe a little more weight, into the 205-210 range, I think he has the physical tools to be a better back, but even he isn't really a "big" back.

I just wanted to know if they liked the names :D . My dad and I call Abdullah the butcher for some odd reason that just started one day and it stuck. I think he will leave at 200-205 his final year. He isnt a big back but thats why we have Cross, And Marrow.

Mark this prediction: by the end of the 2013 season, neither Green nor Abdullah will be our featured back. That player has yet to emerge.

But it's not these two guys.

From what I've seen so far, Abdullah. My guess is that it won't be particularly close if he can keep the ball off of the ground.

Don't dig the nicknames. Sorry.
