Big Ten Moves to Nine-Game Schedule in 2017

I'd be really surprised if the Big 12 stayed together and kept the Mega-conferences from being created.

But if that does happen and we go to 9 conference games. Will they just add another game or will we go from 4 to 3 out of conference games?

Yep, just like the Pac-10 did for the last x-number of years. Three out-of-conference games, nine in-conference games.

My guess would be just go to 3 non-conference gamnes.

It also said that starting in 2017 Nebraska would have 5 conference home game in the odd years and 4 conference home games in even years. That will make a difference on how we schedule any big name home and home series in the future. It would cause us to have to do the home games in even years and away game in odd names so we could always have 7 home games every year.

 
This is a terrible idea. It gives certain teams an advantage to get to the CCG, and it will also cost the Big 10 1-2 bowl teams a season. Then you have an even harder time scheduling non-con games. All the Pac 10 coaches hate it, even more now that they have a CCG.

 
I read in the OWH that Osborne said this would mean an end to the 2 for 1 deals with teams such as Fresno and Wyoming. TV runs the show, and I don't see much difference in how NU's schedule should look.
