Board redesign - provide your input

^ Seconded, on the scoreboard.

I do think the slight mismatching of pixels is intentional, though. I still don't like the text shadow of "A Test Category." That text could stand to be a little more clear and readable. The scoreboard is a neat widget, but it can be turned off, right? And this means status updates are disappearing?

This may just be me, but I'm not the biggest fan of the pebbled background. With it, the pages seem a bit too red...
Why would that be?

Not sure about the one in the nav bar. The slight offset doesn't look too bad for the scoreboard. Gives it a less rigid feel.

I think the extra pixel is intended to give some "depth" to the tabs. When I first saw it I wasnt sure either, but I'm certain it's by design. We can ask them to change if it really looks out of place to everyone.

I truly appreciate the feedback from everyone, it's useful. Some of these things however, will have to be overlooked for the time being or we will probably never get it online before the end of the season. This company is good at what they do, but they are just slow. Giving them another long list of small details will probably delay the release another few weeks. My suggestion is we release it sooner than later how it is, and then tweak what we can ourselves - e.g. the spacing discrepancy on the banner. The things we need their help with I will simply re-hire them to complete.

Personally I think the scoreboard is out of place and obtrusive. I'm not against a scoreboard, just not that one. There are a few cosmetic/spacing things to work out, but its getting there.

I agree the scoreboard could be placed/blended better, but it works well. Maybe we could design one ourselves. otherwise we'll need to find a feed & provide this company exactly how we want it displayed. They searched for quite a while to finally find this one since we couldnt supply it.

I completely understand. I'm just providing my observations for you to run with. Most of what I see that needs changing cosmetically can easily be done by us (those with admin control access).

I'll see what I can come up with for a score board.

Also, Frank, I'm sure either huskeraddict or myself can make any of the winning banners transparent.

Chad, maybe they could just use something like this.

Code:
<iframe align="center" width="100%" height="300px" frameborder=0 marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" src="http://sportsline.com/collegefootball/box-scoreboards" scrolling="yes"></iframe>
I put it up here for an EXAMPLE (Bottom of the far right sidebar).

Looks good Eliot, thanks. Perhaps we can just implement ourselves. I'm trying to get a list from them of all the files where they have installed things, e.g. the scoreboard, clock etc.

You might mention to them that we need to know which templates or CSS; if they give us the actual files, I can't access those - I don't have FTP permissions to that level. Just an FYI.

Is there a way that we can add some dimension to the "tabs" at the top of the board? To me it looks too plain and "boxey". Maybe the countdown clock could be more graphic intense? It's looking good but there are a lot of flat square edges everywhere.

I know what you mean ISRP, it could be better for sure. For the sake of time, we will just have to release the version they designed, and then work to enhance in the future months - either ourselves, or I will re-hire this firm again if needed.

Got it, understood.
