BOurNe sUpremacy / zE bOp

It's zE bOp. Don't know if you remember him, but I ended up giving him a suspension, followed by a ban. He then registered under the names Bruno The Jet and...BO-urNe sUpremacy. I'm banning the account.

Good job, Frank. I knew that guy was familiar.

He'll be posting again soon, as he alluded to in his explanation of how to circumvent a ban.

It was your post that did it. In the back of my mind, I must have also been thinking I'd seen that posting style. As soon as I read your post, it clicked. I've kept some emails concerning ol' zE bOp, and in one of them I was explaining to Eric and Chad why he was banned - and it included his other accounts. But yeah, he'll be back. If he follows his pattern, we'll get three or four registrations, figure out it's him, and kill them. He'll lose interest for a while.

He's already trying to get back.

Latest attempt: @BO-urne Vengence

Caught in the validation loop for the moment, but I believe he can still post Status Updates from that limbo.

EDIT - and again. Latest:

@BO-urne Dynasty

Flagged as spammer, Mod banned, etc.

Here are his posts, now moved to the Junkyard.

Two more:

@BO-urne Trainer

@BO-urne Atcha

Both flagged as spammers, Mod banned, etc.

EDIT - What if we changed the membership approval to manual for a while? This doofus is clearly going to make a nuisance out of himself for the foreseeable future.

Another. He's learning - different name. But the email is a dead giveaway, as is his penchant for hiding his activity.

@Nascio Supremacia

Banned all of them - a total of five. He has to be doing this thinking it's a pain for us. Every account he registered is from yahoo.com, and they all have a name appended with 7564, such as robworster7564@yahoo.com.

I don't think Chad or Eric would want a manual approval. Too much chance that a legitimate person will attempt to register and then say, "The hell with it" if we take to long to approve. And since we no longer seem to be getting email notifications of registrations again, that's a possibility.

It's like I said - last time, he did the same thing, then got bored and left. I'm guessing he's a kid; short attention span.

I think I pissed him off a bit by locking down his new accounts as he registered them. I had a pretty slow day at the office today so I had the new member list window open and refreshed it every few minutes. Bagged four of the five literally within a minute of him registering them. The first one got through to post a couple of times, but I cleaned it up a couple minutes after.

It's WAY more work for him to register those accounts than for us to hit "flag as spammer" on his page, so if he thinks he's causing problems, that's a laugh.

Wonder how long until he figures out that he's got a "tell" that reveals him? Or, perhaps he's doing that hoping he can slip one through that doesn't have the tell.

This one didn't go "Private" right away, so either he thinks that's the tell or he forgot.

Thing is, his basic posting style is a tell as well. Two of us figured he was a former member just by the way he "talks" here. He's not clever enough to modify his writing style, and that will always be his downfall.

I don't know how we didn't notice this, but this is most likely ze bop/Bourne back again. The username is @WizardOfOsbourne which should have been a giveaway at first, but he also says this in a post:

Hey Wizard, is your name a shout-out to Dr. Tom? If so, it's misspelled.
Nice point. Haha. It's a mix of two movie references I guess. Wizard of Oz and Bourne Identity
WizardOfOsbourne joined the board two days after we banned the last known attempt to circumvent the ban (undercover).

The email used to create this account has been used several places around the internet, one of which was in 2009 for a UC-Santa Barbara Anthropology student named Austin Mettetal.

Mr. Mettetal has a Craig's List ad offering to teach English in Seoul, South Korea.

Hmmmm...I think this MAY be a coincidence. The email doesn't follow his normal pattern, and his posts are not zE bOp/BourNe like. In all his prior accounts, he's posted like a high school kid - a lot of abbreviations and Internet slang. This guy, in contrast, has relatively cogent posts. He has a Facebook page, and he "liked" this video (Bo Pelini). His Facebook page says he's a 2007 graduate of Lincoln High, but lists his current city as Seoul, South Korea. Any chance any of the Mods know this guy?

What I'd like to do is to watch him for a while. If it is zE bOp/BourNe, he's going to start posting in his old pattern.
