Bowl Projections Thread

Guyz, the bowls don't have as much power to choose as they once did. Its the B1G office that has the most say in putting the teams in the bowls. So we will go wherever Commander Delany tells us to.

That's pretty much the way it's always been. Conferences have tie ins and contracts with bowls.

We didn't go to the Orange Bowl so many times in the 80s just because they loved us so much. It's where the Big 8 had a contract for our top team to go.

 
The conference has the tie-ins but it used to be more up to the schools to accept the invite.

The B1G changed a couple years ago to have a tiered system of who can go to what bowl - it's not "the #4 team goes to XYZ bowl" anymore. It's "the #3, #4 and #5 team go to theses bowls. Which one do we want to go where."

So the B1G is much more involved than the conference office used to be. That being said, I'm sure the bowls and Iowa (in this case) are still trying to push for their way.

Is it just me or does it feel like Nebraska has gone to Florida for a bowl game like 7 of the last 8 years?

I don't care where Nebraska goes, really, just give us a winnable game. I don't care if we are playing The Citadel in the Gluten Free Bread Classic Bowl. I just want Nebraska to end the season with 10 wins and have less then 4 losses.

I'm with you on this one. I want that 10th win and more importantly NOT that 4th loss. I don't want to spend all of December dreading going up against LSU or A&M or Florida.
