Not me. I've disliked this guy from day one.....right down to his hair mousse and I don't make any bones about wanting to throw him under the bus and back over him again. I don't believe that his brand of football breeds year-in and year-out success (which is what we expect). Our offense does not have to be stellar, but it has to be reliable enough for a few TD's a game, game after game, season after season.

Here's where someone makes a smart*ss comment like "It is a good thing you aren't making those decisions" but I suspect that it might be a little more difficult for them to say that now.....but then again probably not. lol Their love of Wats is blind....

Sure there is. They are the types of offenses that generally tend to work regardless of how young your team is or how many stars your recruits are. To hell with finesse--focus on execution. Nebraska's offenses of the 60', 70's, 80's, 90's, and part of 00's fit that description. Even our struggles in the final days of Solich were a result of having poor defenses more than having poor offenses.

You run an offense that "reloads" easily. These house of card offenses are just that: Pull one or two players out and the entire thing crumbles. That can come from an injury or graduation, and you can't just be writing seasons off because a player or two gets hurt or graduates. You have to develop a system where new players can be "plugged in" without a significant drop in offensive production. (That wouldn't be a Watson offense, btw.)

 
Uh....our offense is awful. It's one thing to have a down year but this is pathetic. Even in 02 we could still challenge Texass defense.

i can explain his lack of passes, he did not want to give up interceptions. the 'o' had to keep the ball and waste time, that is all you can expect from this 'o'.

 
Is there really any need to explain the lack of passes?

We are, you could say, not much of a threat at passing right now. Especially against a team like Texas.

See our offensive output from 1990 - 2001. 11 straight years where we were pretty darn consistent. go back further if you wish, i'm too lazy at this point. The WCO is up and down big time. Sure we had 2 pretty good seasons, but have also had 3 crappy ones.

Yes, I agree with you that that is all you can expect from this 'o'. But the fact that this is all we can expect from this 'o' goes back to Watson, he is the offensive coordinator. No, I dont expect our offense to be world beaters but we've had too many offensive performances this year that have been downright pathetic (Texas Tech, Iowa State, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas). That falls on the man with the 6 figure salary (Watson) & he's gotta go

It's tough to be a good offensive team when your staff is divided on it's philosophy and expertise. Cotton is not a wco type line coach. Who knows what becks philosophy is...that said....gilmore and watson aren't doing too hot with the qb and reciever play.
