Callahan?

When he left the pros he had some of the old guard owners and GMs looking crosseyed at him. There were some issues. Al Davis practically had him blacklisted among some of his cronies around the league (refers to him as whaz hiz face these days). Plus many were not happy the U was ready to sue if they couldn't get Norvell from the Raiders. NFL owners don't like it when outside interests threaten lawsuits vs thier teams. Even if its Al Davis and the Raiders. Its going to take Pete Carroll type success to have teams interested in him. One thing for sure... he will have to get rid of the avg 5 loss a season thing or end up coaching Ohio or somebody.

It amazes me that every single publication, sports talk analyist feels the program is on the rise and that the changes being made were needed.

Yet a few seem to think they know a lot more about college football than those that are paid to know it. Some get big bucks.

We have heard positives from the most hated.

We have heard positives from those considered clueless.

We have heard positives from those on this board that are truly in touch with this program.

You are hearing positives from a signifcant booster, me. I speak with a lot of the big boosters on a pretty regular basis. I have yet to hear a negative word about BC. Take that for what ever it is worth.

This coach is going no where soon. Other than UP in the minds of the doubters. Give him time boy's, the university is.

I absolutely agree and I am excited as can be about the future, particularly next year. I think he is exactly what nebraska needs to get back up to the top.

Was at a drinking hole tonight in KC started talking to a

Illiini fan and asked him what he thought of Callahan.

He flat out told me that he is one hell of a PR guy and

one great recruiter but not a very good coach. This was

just his take as being a outsider. Time wiil tell.

I hope Callahan wins a championship here.

You, me and BC!

I am anxious to hear what some of the older players have to say about him now. Peters, Trev and maybe even Tommy.

I know Rathman thinks he is great, and Roger Craig has made positive remarks. Time will tell.

I think he's a great fit right now for Husker football. I love what he is doing for the program and I could care less what those outside of the program are saying about him. I know a lot of other fans don't like the guy for whatever reason, but they will be shutting their mouths when we are better next season. :thumbs

your post has the look of an extended poem or haiku.

Well, obviously not a haiku, but I see what you mean about the .... odd poem like quality.

So, is this what this board has come to? Literary reviews? Damn! Spring football can't come fast enough!

Significant booster? Even if you do say so yourself.

He isnt going anywhere. College jobs are actually better than many NFL jobs. More control, you can recruit players rather than have to use draft and free-agents. One off season usually doesnt get you fired(unless you are at alabama).

The people who want him gone, wont be happy with anyone as the head coach.

:yeah
