Callahan's hourly wage

actually it is not $4800 an hour, it is per day. If you want to go by hours it would be $199.77 for 24 hours.. I dont know how many hours per day the coach works
:w00t I get paid 3.40 an hour, and I get to die for my country :nutz
welcome to the club.

been there, done that, and still doing it
:yeah

Same here
Just got out on 3 July. 8 years was enough for me.

Just went over 18yrs last month. I just keep reminding myself about that retirement check I can collect

What is truely your point?

These coaches deserve the money they get for many reasons, but the only reason that matters is that UNL was willing to pay that amount. Do you really blame them for taking it? The other reason that is that if you do a job that few others can, the pay is more. If you do a job that the masses could do you will make less. Not many people are capable of actually coaching in D1... that is why the pay for them is where it is at. Don't like what he is getting paid... how about looking at the Notre Dame situation. Their coach gets paid 2-3 times as much. It's all relative!

What is it that you do? Are you perferct at work evryday? Can you motivate every employee that works for you? Especially young men in their late teens early twenty's. Have you ever been fired immediately for making a mistake or were you given another chance to get it right.

IMO thinking of what he makes is dumb. The other poster is correct... fire him and you will pay the next guy more. Do you know if the new coach would make it?

My dad gets that check. I just wasn't confident that check would still be there in 12 years.

Notre Dame isn't in a conference, so when they go to a BCS game they keep all the revenue. Btw, how many BCS games has BC taken NU to? You can dog Notre Dame all you want, but they've made the BCS game under Weiss while NU is still WAITING to beat a top 20 team!

The guys making the big bucks have the hardware. BC has no hardware. IMO, coaches should be paid in accordance to performance. Who here is really impressed with BC's performance thus far through 3 1/2 seasons?
