Checking Registering IP

How do we check the IP address of a new member before they post something? I am curious about our new member @Oregon who claims to be living in Oregon. The email is "orregonian@comcast.net". Seems suspicious with the misspelling and state moniker. I remember MattyIce having an odd obsession with CoachPowerT's dual fandoms between Nebraska and Oregon.

I may be reaching, but even if I am wrong, it would be good to learn how to look this up.

 
Cool. Guess it's not Matty, and I need to get this sock puppet detector fixed.  :P

So, until a member posts, is IP look-up restricted to Admin?
