cm husker

Perhaps I'm just too paranoid.

But I noticed awhile ago that newearthhusker +1s just about every cm post. And now GSG is doing the same.

I haven't looked into it any farther than that. Perhaps they know each other off the board. Just seems odd to me.

Nah, I don't +1 everything he writes, but he seems to know what he's talking about for on the field stuff (like the screen pass thread where he was defending Langs/Riley). He's fighting a losing battle though, because even when he does raise a valid point that others agree with, there's a crew that immediately piles on and turns it into "you hate Riley/Nebraska."

But, I will say they guy makes valid points, he's just really really terrible in his delivery.

GSG admitted to me that he was doing it in protest to how negative other members responded to every post from cm husker. Luckily, he agreed to stop. It should help that we have contacted some of the more vocal objectors regarding their confrontational posts.

Mavric, I read your exchange with cm husker regarding his 'unapproved' post in the Frank Solich thread. I have to say he has a point that if members want to post accusations on the board, then they need to be substantiated or placed in Rumorsville. I would like to get input from others regarding this issue. I will back whatever we decide.

To some extent, I agree. I more have issues with his attitude and that he won't hold himself to the same standard of producing the proof that he claims to have.

In this specific case, I see it more of a statute of limitations type thing. We're talking about things that (supposedly) happened 15 or so years ago and have been discussed many times in the intervening years. To me, that doesn't hold the same burden of proof as something currently happening.

But if others feel differently, that's fine.

 
I think the best resolution is to simply tell him that the matter is decided and won't be discussed further, and that he needs to carefully read Tom's suggestions to him. The main issue is the way he posts more than the content of the posts. As Tom noted, he posts only to disagree, and does so in a belligerent manner. And that is the issue that he needs to address.

 
I don't see that CM husker's post is that bad. I don't agree with what he said, and apparently Redux didn't agree either, but it doesn't seem to break any rules. LINK

By the way, Tom, not to step on your toes here, as I think you're doing great -- but it would probably have been OK to accept his "OK" at face value, and only to bring it up again if there are other incidents. I'm a lazy one, but the less PM back and forth, the better, IMO -- we've clarified what needs to be said and it's simply up to the member to follow through or not.
