Completely ridiculous RB depth chart

I would like to know how many of you are at practice everyday, how many of you have watched him every practice for the last year?

please quit questioning the coaches decisions, especially when it's something unimportent as this.

Callahan has said time and time again that the depth chart doesn't matter.

They'll do what's best, so just pipe down.
Sorry, but I won't 'pipe down.'

I had friends on both coasts comment on Culbert's TD run, 'both' saying they thought he looked like Reggie Bush. These two friends don't know each other. Coincidence? I'm not a coach, they're not coaches, but all three of us know good plays when we see it.

Westgatehusker, explain to me what you saw from Glenn and Helu that justifies them being above Culbert on the depth chart.

And oh yeah...RB's are not 'unimportent', or however you choose to misspell it.

ok I might have been misunderstood, I said that Callahan has said that the depth chart doesn't matter, not that the running backs don't matter. Do you really think Culbert will have more playing time if he's 4th on the depth chart instead of 5th?

As far as Glenn is concerned he wasn't on the depth chart last week because of injury, so it's natural that he'd move ahead of a freshman and a sophmore who just started playing the position this year ( I know culbert played it in highschool) I'm saying as far as college is concerned.

Please don't understand this as me bashing culbert, in fact I was talking about him not stop after the game to the people I was with. He looked very good.

all I'm saying is not to get too worked up about the depth chart, the coaches know there stuff.

I might have been a little harsh in my previous post, sorry bout that, I guess it kinda annoys me when people bag on our coaches for some miniscual things.

oh and sorry about the spilin ;)

If the depth chart doesn't matter, why is it out there? I'm not dogging you, but this depth chart is clearly sketchy, unless we're all missing something that has transpired in practice over the last two days.

I think Culbert should be 3rd on the depth chart behind Lucky and Castille. And I think it is important he stays at RB because Lucky has not demonstrated himself as a durable back. I hope he can stay healthy, but if Castille becomes a starter if Lucky gets injured, Glenn, who runs the same style as Castille, is his backup? I don't think that'd work. And Helu may become a good back, but he really didn't show much on Sat.

I'm not saying the coaches don't know what they're doing. I think they're doing a nice job, and congrats on Callahan getting his extension. I'm just saying that I was excited that we saw 5 RB's get on the field, and Lucky, Castille, and Culbert looked by far the best. That's why I was confused and disturbed by this depth chart.

And before the season started, I was hoping Culbert would go back to defense also, he would be well-served to go there...now, I'm really liking what I see from him at the RB position.

Yeah, I tend to dog on people about spelling, even though I mess up alot, too. But I'm not too bright, so I exploit the weaknesses I know something about. ;) Good post, Westgate.

I'm surprised Purify isn't starting but I quess it doesn't matter the way our WR's rotate in and out.

Reading the depth chart I can take this away; Steinkuhler is in good enough shape to start this week, Mike McNeil is not making the trip, Teafatiller and Purify are a go for this week and that is about it.

It looks to me that people are making the depth chart worth a lot more than it really is. I think people are overrating Culbert as an RB and underestimating Glenn. Let a few weeks go by so this can settle out itself.

I don't think it will be long and we will see him back on defense where he belongs. It sounds like the freshmen are picking up the system faster than expected. I think once the regular season starts we will see him move back over. Cally will keep him on offense untill then just for a safety line, but by the time conference play starts the freshmen will have enough game experience and practice to be somewhat dangerous.
Is this Huskerboard, or am I now in the f'ing Twilight Zone???
