Concussions..

Wow,

The scary thing about just how many people this could affect. I've had 2 concussions(horse related :D ) and a skull fx so it makes it even more poignant; including the fact that I have severe stenosis of L4-L5 with disc degeneration.

Thanks for the post.

If this study holds true we should expect to see piles of studies concluding the same thing as well as explaining in some detail how the process of brain trauma to ALS occurs.

I don't want any disease, but the 3 I really don't want in order are:

1. ALS

2. Pancreatic cancer

3. Lung cancer.

I've had one very serious, bleeding concussion. It kinda of makes me a little nervous.

I wouldn't get yourself too worked up. Even if a strong correlation between concussions and ALS is demonstrated, it doesn't mean your injury specifically is guaranteed or even remotely likely to turn into something serious. I didn't read the study, but a lot of people with head injuries live to a ripe old age and die peacefully in their sleep.

We're all dying of something. Some of us are just doing it faster than others.
