Cowardly Act

I thought that this puzzle was dead. Since it's been resurrected, I'm play.

Did someone else....like a CO....knowingly place or influence the coward to be in danger? an ultimatum....do this or this will happen?

Were the battle conditions (terrain, environment) important?

Does it matter what nationality the soldier was? What battle was fought? And when?

If the soldier did not run away, then did he "volunteer" or was ordered to do an assignment that he felt was less risky?

Did he seek safety in an area that wasn't safe? Like a tunnel that was already occupied by the enemy? Or was he out in the open?

Was he shot by an enemy SOLDIER? Or someone else with a firearm?

Was he a victim of a booby trap? Or a strategic trap in which the enemy lured the coward from the greater danger to the lesser danger?

Do you get a sick pleasure knowing that we don't know the answer to this riddle and you do?

If he wasn't out in the open, was he inside something?

Was his arm or leg exposed while the rest of his body was protected / hidden?

Was the coward trying to hide or protect himself?

Was he shot first, then put himself in greater danger? Or was the greater danger present first, the coward reacted, and then got shot?

Was he shot in the arm? or leg? Either

If he wasn't out in the open, was he inside something? NO

Was his arm or leg exposed while the rest of his body was protected hidden?YES

When the enemy advanced, he started screaming and waving for a medic, even though he hadn't been shot. As he was waving for the medic, he was shot.

OR

He saw the enemy approaching, so he decided to stick an arm or leg into the line of fire, allow himself to get shot, and then play dead while the enemy marched forward.

He allowed himself to get shot so that he could call for the medic and get off the front lines.

During World War I, some soldiers in the trenches deliberately exposed their hands or feet during heavy gunfire in the hope of sustaining and injury that would gain them a discharge and so avoid the risk of death.

For crying out loud.....it took over six months for someone to figure this out. Then, when the answer was revealed, it didn't appear that difficult. Way to go Washusker!
