Credibility

Jackson and Lindsey are a start (though not a youth movement and it isn't like that is new for them (especially for Jackson) to be replaced for bad play.. But Conrad was due to injury and illness not because they wanted to make a change. Do you really expect the starting line to not just go right back where it was to start the season when all five are available?

None of this excuses the fact that there is a senior linebacker who can't tackle and is constantly out of position because he has zero concept of eye discipline. One player who play after play makes everything his teammates do irrelevant because he hands the opposing offense the ability to do whatever they want when they get themselves into the right match up where he has to make a play.

When that one player continues to start and play virtually every snap the mantra of accountability falls flat.

Even Mark Banker, who had far less investment in the program than this staff benched Daniel Davie. I HATE calling out a specific player but Listen to Frost's press conference going on RIGHT NOW..  Hard to take it seriously when Dedrick Young is STILL your starting linebacker and plays virtually all of the snaps.
I think this season is essentially over so there's no harm in it. If honas doesn't go down and barry doesn't get poked in the eye I'm not sure 5 sees much playing time. Youth movement was a bad choice in words maybe new player movement or whatever.

I doubt jackson or lindsey get much more playing time. You cant ignore how bad conrad is anymore. I know he's a walk on and we live walk ons but this has happened 2 years in a row now when he goes out the team plays better.

It would take a miracle to win more than 2 games this year play guys that shiw any promise and will be here next year. Play more freshmen/underclassmen and sell playing time to recruits.

Frost is sick of the same old same old.  The quick interview to start the 2nd half he said as much.  IMHO, we see a new lineup against Wisky.  I'd keep Farmer as center, Lee at CB, Honas at ILB if healthy as initial changes.

We have had 20 YEARS of poor coaching.  Frost may be a fine coach but it appears that we will be mediocre because of rule changes and scholarship limits.   We cannot get players needed to compete at the level of the top teams.  Nebraska should move to FCS level.

Garbage takes incoming

Edit: that didn't make sense like I wanted it to. The quoted post is the garbage take just in case anyone couldn't figure it out.

I believe Frost will get things turned around but it will take time.  You don't change  2 decades of bad habits and culture overnight. Frost sounds frustrated that they aren't getting through to all the team when it comes to changing bad habits. Will be interesting to see what personnel changes happen moving forward. Have to believe some will after hearing Frost post game.

"The dichotomy of Scott Frost... who took a winless UCF program and turned it into an instant winner that continues to win, extending the nation's longest win-streak to 17; and Frost has led his alma mater Nebraska team to it's first-ever 8 loss streak in its history."  Ugh... Give him 10 years' experience, and he'll turn this around.  He'll have wins long before that, of course.  Bethune Cookman and many others.

marlon lucky comes to mind.

To Lucky's credit, he did have a pretty stellar Junior season.  Over 1000 yards rushing and 700+ yards receiving and he has the school record for receptions in a season.  I do understand where you're coming from though with Lucky being a very hyped recruit.

Lucky was also rarely used the right way. Callahan and Co. wasted an awful lot of carries trying to run him between the tackles. He was far more useful in space and very dangerous as a receiver, ala Charlie Garner or Cory Ross. It was maddening hiw long it took Callahan and his staff to figure out how to use Lucky the right way.

Frost is a Nebraska guy and understands why Nebraska football means so much. You can tell he bleeds red and cares as much or more than even the most rabid fan. He was literally shaking at the post-game press conference yesterday he cares so much. We have the perfect mix of a coach with the skillset to get the job done, the resume to prove he knows how to get a job done, and the desire to do the job right.

The idea he’s lacking in credibility after 4 games is pretty silly. He came here for a reason. Give him some time.
