It's not fair, you know. It was never fair. Expecting Jared Crick to pick up where Ndamukong Suh, the most decorated defensive tackle in college football history.

Bugger. I have Crick's stats and a comparison to Suh's Junior year. I was going to write up a post about it for HuskerBoard. <_<

Besides stats there is no comparison between the two IMO and I'm sure everybody else would agree. Crick is good but you can't compare him to Suh. Crick does well when given one on one situations but other than that he's a little above average I'd say. Suh was, well you already know...

Crick was very workmanlike. He had nice stats. Suh seemed to block passes or pick up fumbles at exactly the right moment, to change the outcome of games.

Crick did well and at times was dominant and controlled the line of scrimmage. Suh was gameplanned for and required constant double teams.

I think with the right attitude and meanness, crick can have similar if not better stats, it will take game changing efforts to live up to what Suh did taking over entire quarters and halves.

Article published, by a NE person on 1/12 and says point blank that Suh is going to be a starter in teh Pro Bowl.

Didn't he say more than a week ago that he's having surgery and skipping it?

Based on how Suh progressed from his Jr year to his Sr year, I'd say Crick made the right decision to return for 2011. No telling what he'll accomplish with another year of tutelage from the Pelini bros.

Interesting. I don't expect Crick to be the second coming of Ndamukong Suh next season, but I think he will be a pretty solid player for us.
Absotively, especially if Steinkuhler/Randle/Moore/Rome develops into a beast beside him. It would also help if The Stache and Ankrah/Martin could develop into rush-end threats as well, keeping frequent double-teams off Crick and allowing him more freedom. Above all that line has got to play like a unit.

I could see Crick being just as good——maybe better——at DE. He’s got a quick first step, and fast pursuit. Can you imagine Crick on one side and Camstache on the other??! Wow! But I don’t know if we have enough big bodies for a decent DT rotation without Crick. //sorry for threadjack

As far as Crick duplicating Suh’s stats, it would be incredible. But it could happen. Crick’s numbers this season were pretty incredible.

IMO, there is no doubt Crick will play DE in the NFL.

Especially in a 3-4 scheme like what the Pats or Packers run, Crick and Clay Matthews would be a deadily combo.

Yeah, Crick/Clay Matthews in NFL = Crick/Camstache in BCS
