One of the interesting things about relativity is the idea that time and space aren't actually separate things and that gravity is actually the distortion in spacetime caused by mass. In essence the more mass a particular object has, the slower time seems to progress in the vicinity of that object, for instance if you... had twins, one who lived in space and one who stayed on earth, the twin in space would age faster than the one on earth.
