Dalano Banton

Rarely does a second-round pick get the leeway to try to do as much as possible as soon as possible. Usually, players are built slowly, a piece at a time. Ever since the Raptors picked Dalano Banton at No. 46 last year, the team has empowered him to do a lot. A 6-foot-9 point guard? Sure. Get up as many 3-pointers as possible in the G League? Yeah. Defend across the positional spectrum, excluding big men? Uh-huh. As long as he does everything at full speed, Banton is allowed to do, well, everything.

 
I still have no idea what to make of this whole situation.  He came from a small school, got a lot of hype, was a pretty solid player, got benched down the stretch, surprisingly declared and now appears to be a decent role player in the NBA.  None of that makes any sense.
