So why is Satterfield still here?
I'm far from an expert on all of this and how it works. But, first, Satterfield may be all on board with helping make the transition.  If not, he needs to go.  Second, Dana may still need help in the booth making sure the terminology the team knows jives with what he calls for in games.  There can't be any confusion during games delaying the play getting to Dylan.

This is what I would call a "big boy" move.

This is the first time I can recall where a Husker HC seemed to make a move that was 100% about trying to win games.
this is why this gives me such hope. Perhaps it doesn't work with Holgorsen. But at least Rhule is trying to change things up. That hasn't happened since...well not in my lifetime.

Frost fired Lubick, Austin, Held and Verduzco on Nov 8, 2021.

He didn't immediately hire an outside OC though.

Edit for clarification - obviously Whipple was an outside guy. But he didn't take over for the remainder of the 2021 season. Firing a coordinator mid-year is not surprising, adding a new OC who was not with the program in some role prior is.
