ESPN reported that he was hired as the offensive consultant with a potentially "evolving role." 

Take that for what you will, but Satterfield is most likely as good as gone for next season, with Holgorsen having an inside track to possibly be the OC next year.

I want it done with as smooth of transition as possible.  Hulgerson is coming in, for the most part, totally cold to the system that has been developed here.  He doesn't know what terminology is being used...etc.  He also isn't as familiar with the players.  So, I can't imagine him being able to just step in immediately and start calling plays.

I do want him heavily involved though and not just casually observing.

 
As long as he's not touching recruiting (because he won't want to anyways) and it doesn't result in a drop-off in recruiting, I'm hesitantly optimistic and excited for him to 'evolve' into Marcus Satterfield's successor.

I think he could have an immediate impact as he has already shown in the past.  He is one of the best offensive minds in the game.  He has his short comings in other areas but I absolutely embrace the idea of him controlling our offense.  He is a run heavy air raid guy that has shown he can put up huge rushing numbers while still getting the most out of the passing game.  Sign me up as a fan.

Dana Holgorsen coached six running backs at West Virginia who ran for more than 1,000 yards. 





 









Holgorsen was the head coach at West Virginia for eight seasons. During his time there, he led the Mountaineers to bowl games in six of the last seven years, including four in a row. He also had several other accomplishments, including:




  • Eight quarterbacks passing for more than 4,000 yards
  • Nine quarterbacks throwing for 30 touchdowns
  • Ten top three round draft picks in the Big 12 since 2012
  • The only WVU coach to have a first-round NFL draft choice for two consecutive years (2011 and 2012)

I’d be darn sure to be a SME at my trade to warrant the money.  I wouldn’t be able to shower enough to rid myself of how dirty I’d feel otherwise…

Can Rhule call the plays? Heck I trust Raiola more than Satt.
