DE Harrison Phillips [Stanford - Signed LOI]

We want these kids to be multiple. Meaning, they will move to multiple positions, for multiple years, without ever really seeing multiple reps in games, but it's okay because they will have so many multiple thoughts running through their multiple minds all being multiplied by worrying about what their multiple teammates are supposed to be doing all while thinking of which of their multiple positions they might ever play. Through multiple practices, and multiple positions changes, their careers will end, they will wait multiple minutes during a multiple round NFL draft just to never hear their name called because Mel Kiper will say he watch multiple films of this kid at multiple positions but he never really saw him just be GREAT at ONE f'ing thing.

Is this called Multiplicity?

His senior year will be very important. He really isn't at a position of need at DE either.

Being that we stocked-up at DE last year getting an offer this year becomes tougher.

For God's sake. Just offer him or don't already. This is ridiculous. He is either good enough or not.
Thing is with DE recently stocked his best chance may be for center or 3-technique, positions we have not only not seen him at but we're not sure if he can put on the necessary quality size. Coaches not only need to do considerable first-hand evaluation but the S&C staff too.

The staff knows what the kid can do by now.

Not necessarily

Out of Harrison's own words... the coaches want Dobson to look at him to see how much good weight he thinks he can gain. Then the coaches want to evaluate him at the center position with live work to see how well he fares there. I don't think we're looking at him at DE at this point, not to say we might let him try there later on if some of the guys we are on fall through.

Sounds like he had a good camp, he and Farmer really stood-out, did some battling. They worked him at several positions. Still some conjecture as to what his best position would be and how his body will develop. He's talked a lot with staff, should know more decision-wise when staff does breakdowns after the next camp.

Read that he and Farmer battled pretty good splitting up head to head battles 50/50. Farmer was dehydrated for the morning session from competing in so many camps lately but looked better in the afternoon.

Worked out at center as well.

He seems worried that the coaches aren't sure where he fits for sure and that may be why they haven't offered yet.

He won the NHSCA National High School Wrestling Championship in Virginia Beach in April - Farmer finished third but they didn't wrestle each other.

+1 For wrestling. Love it.

@HuskerExtraSip: Millard West lineman Harrison Phillips tells me tonight he's picked up offers from Toledo and Western Michigan. #recruiting
