DE Jamone Boyd [Kansas State Commit]

Do not compare this kid to Dennard. Totally different situations. He was being arrested for possession of mary jane, resisted arrest and got tazed... twice. Compare twitter accounts. There is making a mistake and then there is being a thug, with all the information at hand (how he talks on twitter and now this) I say we pass. Dont care if hes a 5 star best player in the world, Ive never really liked the f#*k the po..lice mentality in our football players, and i doubt Bo does either.

It doesnt matter as he probably wouldnt qualify anyway. Maybe he can get staightened out at a juco and EARN a second chance, but you dont give him a second chance just because he is good at football. If he earns it, then thats a different story. We were never really after him that hard anyway.

Sounds like your being judgmental on someone you don't even know. Just because the kid doesn't talk "proper" doesn't make him a thug. Do you know what his GPA is? Do you know what his criminal history is? Who are you to say this kid is a thug and isn't educated?

While being escorted by an administrator, Boyd allegedly pulled away and became verbally belligerent. According to a police report, the school resource officer grabbed Boyd’s arm. Boyd pulled away and turned towards the officer, police said.

The officer used a Taser on Boyd, but it didn’t work because the material of the student’s jacket was too heavy. Boyd fled off school property. The officer eventually caught up with Boyd and used the Taser a second time.

Nowhere in this story says he struck an officer. It states he pulled away and turned towards the officer, and the officer tazed him. If this is exactly how it went down, I don't see why an officer should have even tazed him. It doesn't say Boyd lunged or went after the officer either, let alone a physical threat. The kid has a marijuana charge, whoopty doo! You know how many kids smoke marijuana? I could almost guarentee 50% of college football players would test positive if you were to test at this moment. Just because he smokes, and pulled away from an officer, doesn't make him a thug. Sometimes a person needs a slap in the face like this to realize what he has and put in jeopardy. But then again, I guess your hands are completely clean, and gives you the right to be judgmental towards an 18 year old kid you know absolutely nothing about.

Make him go through treatment as part of the recruiting deal. Its not hard to give a kid a push in the right direction. Besides, I would love to know how you know we weren't pursuing the kid that hard. I take it you must be personal friends with Ross Els or are an employee.

You cannot be serious? Whoopty doo? When you are on a full ride scholarship to play for a program like Nebraska, you are expected to present yourself in a certain way. Remember Castille? He failed a drug test and the next day Bo kicked him to the curb. So he doesnt take it lightly, as he shouldn't.

Whoopty doo wasn't the way I intended as I was typing faster than thinking. I was just stating the fact that its not a serious crime or a crime to count someone as a "thug", and its something that can be cleaned up. Rehab and random drug tests. If the kid wants to do good in life, this may have been his eye opener. Like I said earlier in my other post, its not too late for this kid to clean up his act, and I don't see why he doesn't deserve a second chance. Who gives two craps less if the kid "talks gangster" or however it was worded, that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it or give you a reason to doubt his education ability.

I think "resisted arrest" and "fled the school" is the bigger issue. MJ or not, it's still illegal, own up to your actions and be responsible. As Bo has stated about prospects, if my players can't trust a kid, how am I supposed to trust the kid? I don't see giving a kid a second chance when he hasn't even made it anywhere yet.

You cannot be serious? Whoopty doo? When you are on a full ride scholarship to play for a program like Nebraska, you are expected to present yourself in a certain way. Remember Castille? He failed a drug test and the next day Bo kicked him to the curb. So he doesnt take it lightly, as he shouldn't.

Me giving my opinion means attacking your post? Didn't you just attack mine telling me not to compare him to Dennard? I have also read numerous stories saying he never hit the police officer. If he hit the officer, wouldn't you think ONCE, he would be charged with "Assault on a Police officer" rather than resisting and possession?

Nevermind its not worth my time explaining it to you, you take everything as an attack instead of a discussion. Just becasue we have a difference of opinion doesnt mean you have to go off like im talking bad about your mother or something, this is getting ridiculous man. Of course he deserves a second chance, IMO i highly doubt Bo would give it to him unless he went to JUCO first and turned things around. Thats just my opinion, I would pass. Im not Bo and my opinion means d!(k sh#t so stop arguing with me.

Really? When has it been legal to charge someone at a later time with a crime? Murder or something serious like that, yes because of evidence to point you towards the crime. When you are taken into custody, you are told what you are exactly being charged with.

Thats like getting pulled over for speeding, and the officer ticketing you for it. Then visiting you the next day because he forgot that you didn't use your turn signal too.
