Deadwood

Just wrapping up Deadwood for the second time in my life. I subscribed to the HBO-Go... it has allowed me to watch many series that I have almost forgotten. Deadwood is a quite a unique entity on its own. I prefer this time period-piece to the Spartacus/Rome/Borgia type. It has amazing characters (although, historically, I do not believe all their lives intersected at the same time). 3 Seasons- seems too short and I do no think it had the proper send-off. The rumor of Deadwood having its own released movie- has all but died. Anyone else enjoyed that series?

yes, I too enjoyed the Deadwood series. I have been to Deadwood many times and it is a unque little town. About 3000 or so residents and roughly 20 casinos and bars and resaturants and shops, etc. Fun place to go and spend a week end really. I think series is fairly accurate historically and the characters are pretty much based on real life people. Deadwood the series depicts the times from when it was first just a gold mining camp site through its light speed transformation into a gambling and other sinful pleasures spot with the gold fever/rush mentality. If you are ever up to Rapid City and vacinity (beautiful scenic area), there are interesting things to do and see and Deadwood would be one of them in my opinion.

I get to Deadwood/Rapid City every 8-10 weeks. I try to avoid the area during the summer months- too many tourists and hard to get a room at a decent price. Headed out there the first week of November- seems to have snow fall (year-round) every time I visit the area. I always wanted to pan for gold as a kid at one of those tourist traps.

Sure enjoy some of their quotes in the show.

Yeah, that was a great, great series. Once of HBO's best, IMHO. Too bad HBO just sort of left it hanging. I don't think there was a real ending of any sort, if I recall correctly. But there were so many great episodes and scenes while it lasted. I think the fight scene between Dan the The Captain might be one of the best TV fight scenes ever.

It's always fun to watch hotel room prices climb here when it leads up to summer, for the rally, and the LNI

Actually, there was mention back in August that HBO was in talks recently to resurrect Deadwood for a single movie deal. One of the actors tweeted about it.
