Unrelatedly to North Korea, I want to see the JSF program succeed. I don't want to fathom the setback to American airpower if it remains a cluster.

I wish we would just ignore North Korea. They're a crappy, backward weak little country halfway around the world. Let China deal with them.

China is who keeps Kim Jong in power in the first place. They've never been more than buffer space between South Korea and western ideals.

All the more reason to let China deal with them. North Korea is no threat to us.

It's all about defense spending. If we don't have an enemy defense spending might go down. North Korea is the paper tiger of the month. /jmho

And as was pointed out before...

When your domestic agenda sucks, you need something to shake a stick at to keep people distracted.

See: Bush, George W.

It's a fair point but when NK's only ally in China leaves them there's no telling what a power hungry mad man who executes his own citizens for bad mouthing him will do. Also if a theoretical war were to break out or Kim gave himself up personally I'd want South Korea involved with the US' help so China doesn't just throw a new dictator in at the helm.
