I just wanted to put this out there. I know that my post was a bit off topic, but I usually let the "off topic" rule float a bit IF what's being posted off topic isn't a blatant attempt to hijack the thread. I don't know if we have ever talked about that interpretation, but that's usually how I enforce the rule.

How about you guys?

I do the same - if the topic is still "fun", then who cares?

I look for an attempt to hijack, which usually is based on the poster's pattern more than a single post in the thread. Particularly those that try to turn every thread into a "Callahan Sucks!" thread. I don't care if that's what they think, or even if they post it - so long as they don't try to turn every thread into that.
