Discontent in the AD?

Flying a replacement in the middle of the night to tour facilities while your current coach is still employed and on a road trip.

Signing him to a contract (allegedly) while you're still employing a current coach.

It's so official that contract details are leaking while your current coach is still employed.

Assuming you fire him, you'll cite "poor performance". So not having the balls to do it before the NIT and then watching him win games and delaying your entire timeline (and potentially putting your hire at risk).

s#!t. Show. I hope Timmy wins the whole damn thing and Moos has to look even dumber firing him like he did.

So, I'm going to assume you had a problem when Moos did virtually all of this during the process of hiring Scott Frost?

Moos met with Frost 7 days before Riley was fired... Moos said it was "just a get to know you", "very casual, no notes"... Riley was fired less than 24 hours after his final game...  Frost was hired 7 days after that. These are very different.

They had been sending feelers out for weeks before that (e.g. Davison), and Frost didn’t need to see the campus or even Lincoln or even the state of Nebraska before he decided. If not for the CCG I’m betting Frost would have had papers to sign before the Iowa game so he could do a press conference the Sunday after the Iowa game.

Hey remember when people were saying Moos didn't have to do much when he hired Frost, that Tom did all the "heavy lifting".  Just curious, was this all Tom Osborne too?  Did he get Hoiberg here?  That shifty Moos is probably taking credit for this hire too!

:sarcasm

Remember Moos and said in the past that he always has a list and is continually updating it.  I have a feeling Hoilberg came from that list and sure he used his head and used the asset of people in University that knew Fred and as the initial contacts to open the door to Moos.  In the end, it was Moos who closed the deal though.  Great hire and a lot of credit to Moos for getting his man!  Sometimes timing is everything and Moos had it with both Frost and Hoilberg!

Moos made the only two hires the collective fanbases would accept.  Moos is doing a better job than he ever could have hoped to at this point.  People need to quit acting like hiring coaches is an easy thing to do, especially here.
I agree...I do think that it becomes more difficult based on how the AD is...

Most coaches have spent their lives in sports, either playing or coaching or both.  Very few are business men first and coaches second.  They want to work at a place that they are comfortable with and for people they are comfortable with.

Good AD's (at college and HS level) are friends with their coaches and have their backs.

Well, he's the boss and still a new one, so there's going to be discontent.. until all slough off over time.

Having said that, the perception that he should have allowed Miles a three year contract extension (or more) instead of the one year, is largely unsaid but felt AND said  by some.

I agree with those sentiments, about Miles.  But, Moos has goals and his way of going about achieving those goals.  People need to settle down and get to work on that.

Nah, this wasn't Moos, or even Osborne. The heavy lifting for this one was done by Jerry Bush! :koolaid2:

So, now that Hoiberg has been hired, are we going to get another fresh round of unfounded rumors about how Moos is on tenuous footing and there is all sorts of discord in the AD? Or will we have to wait until after Moos has also guided us through renovations of the football facilities. I mean it's obvious that Mr.Moos is on very shaky ground and could be let go at any minute
