I would just like to say this. If you're too shitless to run the ball on 3 consecutive downs, when you only need a couple yards for a first down, or decide to throw a fade on 4th and 1. In November. In Nebraska. In 20 degree weather... get the f#*k out of here!

The play call wasn't god awful. Everyone except for Tommy did the right thing and there was a wide open receiver waiting for the throw on the other side of the first down marker.
But if you are Coach Riley and you know Tommy routinely fu#*$ this sort of thing up by throwing into double coverage or throwing toward the endzone, maybe it's not a safe call. Game was on the line and Tommy f'd up.

Just run the ball and get the f'ing first down. You had three attempts at it. If you don't get it running so be it, we didn't deserve to win then.

I agree. Me personally, I would have run it. Unfortunately that isn't who this staff is. They prefer a short pass game to pick up simple running downs. The play was working, guy was open, Tommy just did what he tends to do in that situation.

That play and Tommy's decision don't matter. It's insignificant compared to the idiocy of the 3 plays combined. We didn't attempt to run the ball even once...
