DT Bryson Williams [Wisconsin - Signed LOI]

How could the previous staff underestimate this badly how important it is to have a good player from Nebraska? You take them even if you don't have a great need at the position, because they're not going to leave when they don't get the starting position, and they're more likely to put in 100% effort. They know what it's like to live here, so they're not going to get homesick and transfer. They're not gonna pull a Jamire Calvin and decide to go elsewhere the week of signing day.

A very good Nebraska recruit is more valuable than a great out of state recruit. We absolutely need great players from outside of Nebraska, but should NEVER pass up on a guy like this. I understand missing out on someone who has his heart set on another place (e.g. Scott Frost and Stanford) but this guy not having been offered is ridiculous. Statistics are important and all but if that's the reason Diaco didn't want this guy he was ignoring the other things that matter.

It was the kids that walked on and the ones that got the scholy's from around the state, that showed the recruits from other states what it meant to be a Cornhusker.

If Frost can get that part built back up, he has a good shot at returning the program, to what it was.

GBR!!!
First off, I hope NU can switch Bryson because he's a talented player.  But he's not the type of player in your post that looks at NU as some sort of Mecca.  If he was, he'd already be switched.

D1 athletes, at least most of them, will bleed for whatever school they play for as long as the pride is instilled by coaches and asked of the players.  There isn't anything magical about Nebraska farm kids.

"not"Funhusker

Solid kid.  He doesn't bleed RED ... that's the result of 20 years of lostness for :bigredn:  .

Turning down a great program like Wisky has built will be tough ... but hope Frost can still his heart to be RED and he believes the offer from UCF shows that Scott believes in him.
