Seems like staff takes flak for focusing on out of state players and now they should have passed on a local kid because he isn't 4*. Going to be tough filling 85 scholarships with predominately 4 and 5* Nebraska boys.

Half the fan base would have been in an uproar if we didn't offer Maspry and let him go to Iowa/UCLA/etc.

So we offer Maspry. An in-state, P5 player, who truly wanted to be a Husker. He commits on spot. The in state kids dream.

Now the other half the fan base is in an uproar because we offered above described kid and have others more highly rated interested and we don't potentially have a spot for them.

Not saying you are wrong Girlknowsfootball....but it's a double edged sword and the coaches aren't going to make both sides happy. They offered above described recruit because they thought he'd be a good fit for the program (albeit they still thought 4-3 at that point).

It's why in-state recruiting in this state is very delicate.

Bryson Williams might be an example of half the fan base being in an uproar. Especially if he picks Iowa where he's already been on 3 visits.

Going after these NSD kids is also very risky too as we've seen in the last year or two.

If all works out with Mapieu (which it hopefully will) and both Trout and Avery want N, they will certainly find a way to take all three.

Just from film, Trout looks like one of the absolute best lineman in the country. Have no insight into his fall in the ratings, but that 5 star challenge footage was impressive. He is also one of the most well spoken recruits in some time. Really want this one!!

I would be cool with just loading up on linemen from here on out
