Embedding Video

I am having trouble embedding video that's not from Youtube. Tell me if I am doing something wrong: I click the insert media button and copy and paste the link between media /media. With Youtube it works every time. But with any other site, i.e. Dailymotion, it comes out as a direct link.

Some websites don't allow people to embed, they want the traffic at their site. So that could be it. Can you post the URL of something you're trying to put on HB so I can mess with it and see if I can get it to work?

Here are several examples of videos that Huskerboard, for whatever reason, will not embed:

I'm guessing we don't support DailyMotion and/or Sapo.com. Not all videos from all sites are supported, and some of the reason for that has to do with our site security. I would imagine AR or one of the other Admins will look at this in the next couple of days and give you more feedback on this, and maybe allow embedded videos from these sites, but I can't promise anything.

I hope so. You can't find everything on Youtube, especially sports highlights.

It appears that the sites you listed don't provide embedding. Well, that's not exactly correct - the first link provides the code for embedding the video, but it has to be done using the raw HTML. It won't work through the Media tag.

In short, those sites don't permit embedding. Sorry.
