I'm so f'ing tired of all the endless Tiger Woods bullsh!t, I mean, seriously, a real time Tiger stroke count on Sports Center, you have got to be f'ing kidding me! It's bad enough that he is the only face I've seen on T.V. the last 3 days. But now I have to listen to some idiot tell how great he's playing, and how couragageous his "comeback" to golf is. BULLSH!T!! Your no f'ing hero Tiger, hell the only hardships you have endured you brought on yourself. So what, you hire that sleaze ball Ari Fliescher, spend a few weeks in a cushy sex rehab clinic and now I'm supposed to feel sorry for you? If I'm going to feel sorry for anyone, it would be for the family you screwed over by being an egotistical cockhound! :steam

And it's not the fact that you where banging random skanks that pisses me off, (that only makes you an arrogant a-hole, and a piss poor husband IMO) but the fact that you undoubtably got special treatment from the authorities for what any other Joe Blow off the street would have been facing criminal charges for! And now the :espnsucks: of the world expect me to believe your a good man that should be admired for his bravery.........well f#*k YOU!!!

I'm not even going to get into the morbid a$$ Nike add they have been playing, because I don't have the time or the words to describe how truly f'd-up I think that is. I mean by all accounts Earl Woods was a cheater himself! Oh and there's also the fact that HE'S f'ing DEAD!!! How twisted can you get!?! :o

Sorry guys but that last bit just sent me over the edge, I'll quit before my head explodes. :throw

:rant

Cockhound? Can I steal that one?

Pretty good rant dude. The media in this country is out of f#cking control.

Has Nike gone too far.jpg

I don't really care that much about his problem with sex addiction..Most of us probably go through it in puberty..I'm guessing he was under more control/restraint by a father that was focused on manufacturing a champion.

I too hate the way the media overloads us with mundane details and with quantity over quality, but I'm also pissed by the "feeder fish" that use almost any situation to get their own facetime.

Like the planes flying over the course while toting banners trying to be witty ..."Bootyism"?

Or mucho worse..the chairman? of the Masters ..Billy Payne? that makes a point of getting up to the podium and publicly scolds Tiger just as the festivities begin..Does he really need his nose rubbed in it any further? 'Effen morality nazis...

I'm even a little upset with Charles Barkley for drawing attention to the presser/Billy Payne..Although if he was just defending his friend, I can yet again cut him aome slack..

Speaking of the Chuckster, it illustrates some of the different treatment dished out for different people..

Last New Year’s? Barkley was arrested for DUI out here. He ran a stop sign and admitted he was out trying to score "oral sex" from a hooker or bar fly? (I think he's still married to Maureen?)..This was one in a string of Charles’ past incidents worse than what Tiger Woods did, yet he faced hardly any scrutiny or scorn from the media.

There’s no mystery why Barkley gets immunity. Media people like him. He’s affable and charming. He’s quotable about pretty much anything. He appears candid and forthcoming. He’s brutally honest. He drinks and gambles too much, but the media knows him. They recognize he’s a decent guy... They can place his transgressions in context.

Tiger is the complete opposite. He’s managed and artificial. When he does give an interview, he’s contrived and cold. He reveals as little of his personality as possible. Fans and media don’t know him.

An extramarital affair isn't surprising for humans, but Tiger isn’t a human publicly. He’s the bland, upstanding corporate icon. Consequently, anything that deviates from that image will be magnified.

Tiger doesn't need to throw a bar fly through the front window, but if he was just a little more human in public, the public might treat him like one.

A few months ago it was this "Tiger Woods is a cheater" or "Tiger Woods might not be a good role model after all" or "How could Tiger Woods do this to his wife and kids."

And now within the past few days the media is covering every second of Tiger Woods and lets feel sorry for Tiger Woods.

Come on.......F&*% YOU ESPN. Its stories like Tiger Woods and Tim Tebow and all of the non stop gay love fest you have over these two that make me hate them even more. There are other athletes out in the world that have a better story than these two

Is this thread actually directed at Tiger, or at modern day journalism?

It's too bad what he did, but he doesn't owe anything to any of us. If you actually have those feelings towards the man himself then shame on you, since the majority of what you are ranting about has nothing to do with the man himself but with how ESPN and Co. are handling things.

Landlord, if you don't think the Wood's PR machine hasn't had a hand in this, then you are truly naive. This whole "comeback" thing is a carefully orchestrated PR campaign to put the billion dollar worldwide Woods brand back on the map -- to make it marketable again.

It's bullsh#t like this Nike ad, people are tired of -- and the whole contrived marketing of the "comeback."

I'm ranting at both ESPN and Tiger Woods. First ESPN airing the non stop Tiger story when it was leaked that he indeed had an affair and then all of a sudden we should feel sorry for Tiger and have this non stop coverage of the Return of Tiger. Tiger agreed to do the Nike ad and its basically a feel sorry for Tiger ad than anything and its pretty ridiculous

Yes, but the coverage on these two is warranted in ESPN's eyes. Tiger Woods is the most well known golfer in the world AND one of the most well known people in general. Is that thanks to Sports media? Yes, but it's also thanks to his dominance on the golf course. America, collectively, is responsible for so many people caring. If we wanted the media coverage to stop, people would have to stop tuning in. The problem, however, is that people won't stop tuning in.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being a cockhound, just as long as you aren't married and don't have kids.

Take it from a person that used to be a sex addict. (Wait I still am, :LOLtartar ) No one found it a problem for me to be a sex addict, but then again I wasn't married and don't have kids, at least to my knowledge.

But i agree with that Nike ad bullsh#t and how ESPN has been playing up the return of Tiger, and he didn't even win the Masters, he choked on Sunday and now they are talking about him needing rehab on his swing. I am not a big golf person, so i could really care less if Tiger has a comeback or whatever.

To me Tiger Woods is a great golfer who liked having sex and got caught while being married and raising a family.

I also heard that the voice or Earl Woods in that commercial wasn't even addressing Tiger. I think it was crude for them to use it in a way to feel sorry for Tiger.

I tend to think that Tiger is just the unfortunate one that got caught! I find it hard to believe that some of the younger guys on the PGA that travel the world and make enormous amounts of money to play golf aren't cockmasters themselves, they just do a better job keeping it on the DL and not as high profile as Tiger. Seems to just be the pattern of the celebrity, get caught, have public apology and then enter rehab. As much as the media attention is getting old, the PGA needs Tiger, that guy has created a GIANT Cash cow and bet they do not want to go on without him. They can publicly scold him all they want, but in the back door they have a giant sigh of relief that the Tiger cash register is ka-chinging once again!

I would like to know for Huskerbob, what criminal charges can come with cheating on your wife? I can understand if he was sleeping with prostitutes or paying the women he slept with for sex, but as far as i know, he was just having sex with multiple women.

How quickly we forget the real issues that actually started this whole mess.

A Florida trooper who suspected Tiger Woods was driving under the influence sought a subpoena for the golfer's blood results from the hospital he was taken to after crashing his SUV, but prosecutors rejected the petition for insufficient information, according to a police report released Monday.
A witness, who wasn't identified in the report, told trooper Joshua Evans that Woods had been drinking alcohol earlier. The same witness also said Woods had been prescribed two drugs, Ambien and Vicodin. Link
