I think we got a steal out of Buckeye country.
InterestingIn addition to the sleeves around the football to make gripping the ball more difficult, the RBs were holding orange cones over the end of the ball. If a cone hit the ground, it was push-ups for all.
If you're looking for practice reports about a different scheme being used for punt returns, you're not going to get it. The media have said over and over that they can make general observations about how different players are playing and which players are practicing with the first team, etc. But comments about any specific plays or scheme are not allowed, along with injury information beyond "so-and-so got injured".Im just confused as to why there has been no talk to the absolute horrendous ability to return punts last year and what the coaches have done in the off season to help correct it. We couldnt block a single man last year and there has been no talk about what coaches have done to help improve that. Yeah we have brought in players that have the ability to break long punt returns but they will not be able to do that if no one can block anyone.
It's not that we couldn't, it's that we chose not to.
Those are different things entirely, and as head-scratching as the justification for that decision might be, it's a different discussion than a supposed inability to block people if we want to.

Of the true freshman on offense, De'Mornay Pierson-El appears to be separation himself. He got lots of punt return looks today too. #Huskers
My thoughts exactly. Can't wait to see him play.Grant Muessel @Muessel 24s
