Fall-out from Cancellation

?????

I'm more worried about the committee taking an 12-1 Georgia team over a 12-0 Nebraska. :koolaid2:

This is the biggest concern.

Nothing like combating stereotypes by having the game cancelled for a monster storm
Think you guys are blowing that aspect way out of proportion. Kids take official visits all the time even when there isn’t a game. I’m sure they still had a blast and they got to see 90k fill a stadium and see how crazy it got when the team walked out. They also got to talk to people like Gabrielle Union and D-Wade, and our own legend in Suh. I am also sure they got a lot more time with the coaches because of this. Sure it sucks the game was cancelled, but I’m sure they did a ton of other things.

Real game film to critique and improve on.  Would be great to actually see how the guys react to miscues in a real situation.  Get them confidence that the system works with things are "live".

As mentioned, not that any game is a guaranteed win, but it was one we all chalked up as a "W".  Now it makes the remaining 11 all count a little more....

I'm sure the recruits would've loved to see a real game, but they got to stay in the locker room for an extended time.  Listen to/talk to the staff more.  See/talk with the "celebrities" more.  The tunnel walk on tv was amazing! The intensity on Frost's face could not be missed.  No doubt the recruits realized they were part of a historical moment just being there.....

Everyone is healthy.  Another week to prep.  No game film on NU.  Maybe even a little more chippy next week to come out and finish business....

I don’t see us scheduling a game in the off week because most other teams will have a full schedule already.
Iowa St got cancelled, too.  Don't know if the bye weeks sync up

Edit: Their bye week is Oct 20 so no to that.

The bowl eligibility issue is not an issue. If Nebraska only wins 5 they will go bowling. Last year FSU had this exact situation. Game cancelled because of weather and only won 5 and they went to a bowl game.

Not to mention our own team has gotten in with 5 wins.

Of course, just win 6+ and don’t worry about it.

Actually Florida St scheduled UL Monroe during championship week for their 12th game and won to go 6-6. They would not have made a bowl game without that win.

This isn't true.  FSU played a 12th game on conf champ weekend to get to 6 wins.

But like you said, win games and it shouldn't matter.

When did FSU schedule the 12th game? Did they do it right away, or did they do it when they realized they would have trouble getting 6 wins?

If the latter, we might wait until we see how the season is going.
