I am fencing in my back yard and was wondering if anyone has any tips on what type of wood fence works best. I want to use the dogeared panels and alternate them on each side. And also I know you need a "permit", but in reality do I really need to waste my time with one? Any suggestion would be great! I also have called diggers hotline and there is no lines that I need to worry about.

Get the permit, it will safe gaurd you.

spend an entire day getting the posts level plumb and straight if you have to. Your patience will thank you tenfold down the road. And if you have neighbors definitely get the permit. Awfully nice to have if any disputes come up.

Will the permit also get you a survey? If not look into that, nothing like waking up one day and find out your fence was built on your neighbors land.
