I'm sure I'm going to have a harder line opinion than most here, but my take on pasta is this: Unless this is his first foray onto a public forum, he's got to know that the stuff he's posting is verboten. The rules don't specify no hardcore drugs stuff, we all get that, but do we really have to spell out everything?

If the consensus is to give him another chance, that has to be a really short leash.

 
The whole Owa thread has been pretty nuts lately.

I think since he's showing contrition, acknowledging mistakes, and expressing a willingness to not repeat them, may as well give him a second chance. He wants to come back: a distinction from others who would react in a pissy way to getting banned and get all "fine! screw you guys!". Maybe he's just faking it to get a chance to do more things like that once he comes back but at this point, I don't see a reason to suspect that. Although to be fair, I haven't noticed most of his other posts.

 
He has been a tool since he arrived. Just because he can put together a couple paragraphs with an apology doesnt make me think that this individual will change those tendencies.

I'm with knapplc on this one - the guy is no Internet tyro; he should have known better. Couple that with the fact that he was dogging another member - including posting that member's allegedly real name - just doesn't sit right with me. And as BRI said, we're opening ourselves up to a case-by-case review. Well, we did that. Mike got on to him about his harassment of another member. He should have been on his best behavior after that. But was he? No.

I'll do whatever the majority decides, but personally I don't see that he deserves another chance. He's had 'em.

I think majority is for a permanent ban..

 
Maybe I’m old and out of touch with the youth of today but I didn’t know that spouting off coke references, or old lady mug shots or “MURDER!!!” are ways of “spicing” the board up.

If you ask me the guy had his chance and he blew it so he should take a permanent seat next to the rest of the banned bunch.

FWIW: Those old woman mugshots freak me out.
