Former Homers

Well I'll start this off. I admit I was a homer, and that was dumb. I for some reason could not see all the signs pointing to this being a tough season. Feel free to sign your name on this thread.
Don't want you as a fan then.

I'm a huge homer!!

GO BIG RED!!!
Wow, maybe we have different definitions of "homer," but that's cool that you don't want me as a fan, I'll be a fan until the day I die, just a more rational one.
"I will be a homer never again."

you're the one who said you will never be a Homer again not me. I'm just agreeing with you and telling you to get lost.
So you interchange the words homer and fan? To me homer means someone that never listens to any criticism of their team, only believing that their team is the greatest thing since sliced bread no matter what the evidence shows. Being a fan and supporting your team is something totally different. JMO
To me they are the same thing. I'm a homer and I'm a fan.
OK, then start calculating ways we can still make it into the National Championship Game. That's what I would be doing after two losses in years past.

I laughed at the beginning of the year too. Wondering why we keep hearing the same crap from MU fans year after year...in regards to Chase Daniel. Last year we all heard how wonderful he was and he just sucked in Lincoln. I still don't think MU will win the North let alone the entire conference. I just think we suck a$$ this year. I had higher hopes for our team at the beginning of the year and now I'm scared to go against KU or CU

You're scared to go to CU. I have 4 xtra tix to go, I was feeling confident, but now, I'm not. Boulder is a fun place, but I can't speak for gameday against NU.

Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It’s what separates us from the animals … except the weasel.

Still a Homer...

This is an old Anglo Saxon riddle and if you can’t see why this is a Homer Simpson Riddle, you obviously got the answer wrong

I’m told a certain object grows

in the corner, rises and expands, throws up

a crust. A proud wife carried off

that boneless wonder, the daughter of a king

covered that swollen thing with a cloth.

What am I?

Dough!

I never thought we would be in the NC game this year. We are still to young and not enough depth yet.

If you did then shame on you.

I think this game crossed the line from being a hopeful fan to looking at the real possibility of missing a bowl game. I like to consider myself a realist, and honestly, I cant see ANYTHING positive from this game. Nothing.

I don't think there is any shame in thinking the Huskers were going to be good before the season started. I'm not talking NC good, but at least getting another shot at the Big XII title. There were some questions of course, like a typically mediocre defense under Cosgrove, a young D-Line, not knowing how good Keller would be, etc. But I don't think there were any signs the team, especially the defense, could play so poorly or that we might struggle to win most of our conference games.

We won't get embarrassed by Oklahoma this year. (no Conference Championship game)

I always have this in the back of my head.

I'm with you, the blinders come off now. I had a feeling that Saturdays game would turn out the way it did, but I was hoping it wouldn't. Now its time to starting thinking with the brain, not the heart. I love this team, just now how they play the game.

Not saying I'm going to be a debbie downer or anything, but I laughed at people at the beginning of this year that said that Mizzou would beat us... Now who's laughing?
Hopefully not you . . . we ARE rooting for the same team, after all, are we not?

I will be a homer until the cows come home. Do we need change? You bet. Have I abandoned this program? Never.
My sentiments exactly.

I was a homer because the talent was and is still here with this team. The coaches have made me turn into just a fan right now. I can't say that this team is going to lose anymore games because it's not in me. I will still continue to think they will win every game until they prove me wrong, I am however going to be nervous as hell for the rest of the games.

I had no inkling that play this bad on both sides of the ball would be possible in year 4. It reminded me of the 2002 Penn St game. That started a downhill slide that ended with many changes. Something is very wrong right now and this season could get very ugly if this keeps going. If that happens, who knows, maybe there will be more changes. Losing to Missouri by 5 TD's is unacceptable.
