As I recall, he had an issue with belittling people who disagreed with him. Though he could be civil, he was so incensed about Bo that he often wasn't.

I can see your argument here, I just think "derailing threads" might be hard to justify. Maybe not, though; it's only one perspective.

Nah, I agree. 74 is like arguing with a 5 year old who think's they right. It's annoying as hell, but he hasn't made it personal with posters... yet. Not only did Polo let everyone know that he didn't like Bo, he pretty much insulted anyone who disagreed and had a knack for turning way too many threads into Bo Pelini arguments.

74 just has an incredibly negative outlook about everything. Everything! He's the Eeyore of HB. It's annoying as hell, and lately has been ruining a lot of threads. But he's pretty good about not breaking the rules.

Considering the amount of time everyone has spent monitoring his posts, is a good indication of how much he needs to go if he does step even a smidgen over the line. Enough. No sense letting an infection get more severe.

If he is to get another warning, there has to be something we can point to. Polo's problems started when he was in the middle of a ton of thread derailment, and couldn't play nice with anybody who disagreed with him. That isn't happening here, right? They're on topic and civil.

It could be a matter of degree. If Nebraska does really well this year, he might really lose it.

Polo's posts were, for the most part, civil and on topic, no? Hunter's not really playing nice, he's just going about it differently than Polo's version of not playing nice and I don't think we should be confusing differences in styles with a difference in intention. He is derailing threads, regardless of the potential accuracy of his statements; he posts, and a ton of people react to his post, which is all too similar to how things went with Polo.

Plus, this isn't his first rodeo doing this. He's had 2 warnings in the past and I'm sure plenty of people have reported him. I have nothing against a contrarian opinion, but his version of contrarianism seems to ruffle people's feathers more than most.

I'd have to get caught up on 74hunter's posts over the last couple days but Polo was not banned for being negative. He was banned because he would ridicule and belittle people who disagreed with him. He wasn't necessarily uncivil but he refused to keep to the "post, not poster" rule.

 
He's just a very negative person. Always sees the negatives in every game. Glass is half empty. And evaporating quickly.

I had forgotten I suspended both Hunter and RADAR for some bait-attack-derail episode three weeks ago. Both were nice enough to remind me today with PMs protesting that they did nothing wrong, and that they're getting arbitrarily punished for not sharing in the officially allowed HB opinions while the other side gets to run rampant.

We're tolerant of lots of things, but trolling just to get under peoples' skin because you disagree with them is not one of them. Like many people who have engaged in this kind of behavior this year, we're giving you some time away from HuskerBoard to reconsider your approach to conversation.

Members who successfully return from this kind of time off don't argue or debate the point. Those who don't have been promoted to ex-member.

^ Copypaste something from knapp's December 2014 note to Hunter. I hope we'll see both of these guys get it, or at least stay clean while muttering under their breaths. Either is fine.

So they both were suspended for weeks? I missed the Radar one. I barely heard a peep from him after the suspension we handed out earlier this season. I just assumed he took his ball and went home.

Edit: Holy cow, dude didn't make it 24 hours before your suspension.

No wonder it's been quiet....74Hunter brings nothing to the board except negativity in hopes of getting a rise out of people. He is clever in the fact that he knows to push just enough to not cross the line. Well, he did until he got handed a nice timeout

Yeah, both were suspended for 21-days for the same incident. Both had been talked to (and about, in here) extensively, so I tried a stronger message.

I think RADAR is a guy who gets angry and flies off the handle. That likely continues to be an issue. These kinds of posters, some of them stick around and are great, but unfortunately they never keep themselves far from that one "final" incident.

Hunter is the guy who likes to get under people's skin to make his points. Given his history and his string of PMs to me, I feel he just wants to figure out how he far he can troll people without landing in hot water. That's who he is and why he's here. There are plenty of people who agree with some of his points but never remotely land themselves in trouble. Strangelove, Creighton Duke, plenty of others, they're outstanding.

This is his second very lengthy suspension, but I'll never say never. It's concerning, though, that these aren't even just "occasional angry outbursts."

@Douglas has been making a grand introduction.  I had look for connections to a banned member before but hadn't found anything.
