They don’t need to have anyone ready for the next coach. Need to make the first move, especially with 9 games still left in the year, and a big opponent in Oklahoma.

But what a s#!tshow.  Trev and the Boosters of Substance royally F'd this up by bringing him back for this year.  They wasted a year because of this.  With the schedule and the B1G West being a pile of dog poop it would have been a great year for the program to start over.

There had to be some negotiated number.  I doubt he gets the full $15M.  Maybe they threw him an extra million or 2 to GTFO now.

Needed to be done now. Team still has a lot to play for, and now everyone can still be excited for playing Oklahoma without having the Frost speculation over the program. 

Trev screwed this up big time.  I think it was obvious to many that Frost was not the right guy last year.  Why restructure his contract and keep him around only to fire him before October 1.  We essentially lost an opportunity to bring someone new in this past offseason which would have given this whole season a different look and feel.  Instead we are now left with another lost season of Husker football and it's only Week 3.

Trev’s hands were tied. There was still too much fan and booster support for Frost. He had to let Froat hang himself, which he did a lot sooner than we expected.

You know….. I feel for frost I wish him nothing but the best and I hope he gets his feet back up under him coaching wise and kick the s#!t out of the teams he’s coaching against. To Trev hope you got a goat of a coach coming in to turn it around if not you’ll be gone next three years good luck and way to go caving to fan pressure

It's the right move, at the right time for both the program - and for Frost.

Scott Frost will ALWAYS be a Cornhusker.         This just wasn't working anymore.

Best analogy I could think of is when you have a really lame horse, you don't wait a few weeks - you put put it out of its misery immediately.

He and his family are set for life with his buyout. Maybe that was part of the deal. Send him off with more money and wash your hands free of the problem.
