Frost is returning for 2022

I explained to my wife (a passive football fan, not a Neb grad) that NU is bringing back Frost, but renegotiated his contract so he’ll get less money if they fire him next year. Her response was “Why would he agree to that? He should have told them he wasn’t changing his contract terms and they could fire him instead and take the $20M and go live on a beach for a couple years.”

I was like “good point”.
Maybe it's not about the money.

More interesting to me right now is the players potential coaches could pull with them via transfer/ and recruits.

LsU OC, of course could pull that Brennan kid maybe, but who else.

I didn't think Frost would make this move during the season, or at all, given his loyalty.

I'm hoping we can poach a great assistant even if he stays for just a few years.

I am not a fan of reducing his salary unless it was his idea and unless it means that extra million will be used for the staff.

That just seems punitive to me.

That's just the base salary. It sounds like the flipside is that it's structured to give bigger performance-based bonuses, like for bowls and such.

There is just too much baggage to bring back Adrian. Frost and his new OC need to bag a transfer QB to start in 2022.
I gotta believe this has been in the works for at least a few weeks.  I also hope Frost has some idea what he wants to do.

I can see a good cop(Frost) bad cop(Rational new coach) thing going on with the new coaches.  This would involve a transfer and AM being done as a Husker.

This would need to go down pretty quickly though.
