This video reminds me of my favorite 4th memory. Seems like it was last year, but it was 1994 or 1995, I was 19ish, and a friend and I went to a co-worker's house for a 4th party. First time hanging out with her outside of work, first time meeting her family and first time my friend had met her. Things are going fine, co-worker's family doesn't like their neighbor and people are shooting bottle rockets at the neighbor's house. My friend has the "brilliant" idea to use a few empty 20 oz pop bottles and use those as holders for the bottle rockets. He loads 30ish in each bottle, spends a lot of time connecting all the wicks and creating one fuse for all the bottles. I think there was 4 bottles. He gets it all rigged up the way he wants, sets the 4 bottles at the end of the driveway and lights the fuse. At this time the 4 bottles fall over, with the bottle rockets facing the garage when they start going off...about 120 bottle rockets aimed right at us in the garage, a party of about 30 people that ranged from 5 years old to 65. Literally had to jump and duck at the same time to avoid getting tagged by them as they flew by, it was a very chaotic 20ish seconds as they were flying at us, multiple people got hit, luckily no severe injuries, just freaked out young kids and adults. We were not invited to her family's 4th of July party after that. Strangely enough, co-worker and I remained friends and she's now married to the friend I brought with, still not invited to her family's 4thy of July party. They have to host their own.
