Govt & Election Reform Mega Thread

This is a good example as to why it's stupid to just belong to a party and feel like you need to support them long term.  Parties change and so many people just blindly follow along and proudly proclaim they are a Republican or Democrat.

YES PLEASE!!!!!

I think this could also help other parties gain a better footing.  It's a win-win.
Curious if these just apply to their state races or does it apply also to national races like President.  Or, does that need to be changed at the national level to be applied to national races?

Weird how billionaire Mike Bloomberg spent $400 million of his own money to fund his ill-fated campaign, yet no one - not the dark money investors, not trump himself - would invest in his 2020 campaign.
Weird how you bring up Michael Bloomberg since he wasn’t mentioned.  Since you did.....he spent over $900 million according to NYT not $400 million.

A man with billions who invests in himself. Isn't that what we were promised with trump?  And yet his financials show a fraction of Bloomberg's money donated to trump's own reelection efforts.

Weird.

Biden Raked in More Than $170 Million in Dark Money in 2020 Election, Almost 7 Times More than Trump: Report
This paragraph is crazy:

"Notably, it was the first time in history the spending benefitted Democrats in a presidential race more than Republicans. About $174 million went to supporting Biden’s campaign, while former President Donald Trump benefited from about a seventh of that, or $25.2 million."

Not only did a democrat benefit for the first time, but did so by so much is pretty indicative of how a lot of even wealthy Americans were desperate to see Trump go.

Exactly. Nobody - not even trump - was investing in trump 2020.

If trump were remotely as wealthy as he claims to be, he'd have gone the Bloomberg route and self-funded in amounts that would dwarf Biden's dark money numbers. A good friend of mine says Bloomberg spent nearly $900 million of his own cash on his election. trump? Not even a fraction of that.

Weird!
