Grand Island, NE?

i also live near fonner park. class of 09 at gish. and the town isnt that bad. only on the north east to east side of town. otherwise there is alot of business and such upcoming with the state fair coming next year. and might i add that we are the only high school in the nation to have the same turf as jerryworld on our football field.

 
Went to UNK! Parties with some local GI students but never was old enough when I was there to hit the bar scene! Gotta be down there Saturday for a fuggin wedding! Weddings at 5! Methodist(anybody know how long a Methodist wedding lasts?) and a 2:30 start. Looking for a good place to watch the start and finish of the game.

Balz is a nice little sports bar. Bandits is ok, not much for TVs. Otherwise there is the chicken coop downtown. You could also try sluggers, or whiteys.

 
The best burgers in central Nebraska come from Sin-City in downtown Grand Island. Also, a great place to relax at night is The Chocolate Bar...it's the kind of place you usually see in Omaha's Midtown or by the new Ak-Sar-Ben developments

Went to unk in the early 80s. Man did I have a friggin blast!!!! Ran with guys who grew up there and needless to say I drank and partied waaayyy too much :-) . Is the Fireside inn still there or buffalo Chips?

 
It's changed since I grew up there. The packing plant has brought in alot of undesirables into the area. The east side is trashy but out west is where all the new development is. If you're a young person looking for a career, run away as fast as you can.

 
Live in Grand Island now. Not awesome. Not as bad as I thought either. The new quaker steak and lube at the Pump and Pantry truck stop is GREAT!

Currently putting in a dicks sporting goods and a raising canes. Just got firehouse subs as well.

Population is up over 50k now.

My trips for holidays(wife family lives there) just got way better with a Canes being added.
