"Well, I was really tired after a LONG travel day -- I spent the previous day flying out from L.A. to take a deposition and then returning past 1:00 AM Friday morning -- to log literally a couple of hours of sleep before getting up again to catch my flight for Nebraska.
Anyway, I had planned on catching up on some much-needed sack time; however, friends persuaded me to come out and see the sights here in Lincoln. We ended up at Brewsky's (site of the WeAreSC.com luncheon yesterday afternoon).
The bar was PACKED with Nebraska fans all decked out in their best red. Upon entering, one Husker fan took it upon herself to walk up to our group and welcome us to Nebraska. She asked us if we were enjoying our visit so far and if everyone had been treating us well. This was in line with the general treatment we Trojans are receiving here in the Heartland. Don't get me wrong -- these Nebraskans LOVE their Huskers, and will be cheering WILDLY for them come game time but, as one Husker told me over beers, "My parents raised me to cheer FOR Nebraska and NOT to root against anyone else."
We made our way through a SEA of red, with many Husker fans stopping us either to welcome us to Nebraska, thank us for coming and/or wish us good luck (sincerely) for today's game. We ended up in the back room of Brewsky's where the Big Red Report (Nebraska's website) had an area reserved. We met (and traded stories and beers) with Steve Ryan (GarryP's counterpart), met "DarthHusker," who we thanked profusely for his "Gameday Guide to Lincoln," and generally spent some good, quality time with our worthy opponents. GarryP even made an appearance, enjoying the cameraderie and goodwill as well.
I must say the Nebraska fans we have met so far embody nothing but class and have shown themselves to be most gracious hosts. We have been welcomed with open arms and are having a truly great roadtrip so far.
More to report later -- gonna grab some breakfast (I'm still on Pacific time) and then do a little exploration of downtown Lincoln before the pre-game tailgate this afternoon."

"I'm not surprise.Those people would open their arms to anybody.
I told everybody that the children of corn are truly the best group I ever been around.Despite the usual sterotyping that all athletic looking black guys play football at Nebraska.I never experienced any other major problems.
I wish the buckeye fans would take note!"
