I think it happens quite a bit.  I’d say at least once a year my middle school gets a tip that law enforcement looks into.  Thankfully none have been found to be serious threats.

You punish parents with the death penalty if they have a gun and that gun gets in their kids hands.

No trial, no debate, you get executed.
