Happy Birthday Threads

The Dude has requested that we make a Happy Birthday thread subforum. Just guessing, but I believe his point is along the lines of, right now, 38 of the top 100 threads in the Lounge are wishing various members happy birthday.

Dude has a point, and maybe we could come up with a more elegant solution to the happy birthday threads.

What if we stickied one thread in the Lounge and put all the happy birthday wishes in that thread?

What if we stopped wishing members happy birthday altogether?

What if we made one thread per month for all the birthdays in that month, updated it through the month, and when the next month rolls around we start a new thread?

Any other suggestions?

 
I haven't been all that dependable posting birthdays. And I've only posted ones where members have been active within the last 3 months or so.

And I most likely will be less dependable in posting these for the near future. Certain circumstances dictating.

But I did like what you did posting the longevity of members with 10 years or more Knapp.

Either of those two sound good. Except for my birthday. My birthday gets a new subforum.

I dunno - seems to me that the "overload of birthday threads" is something that is irregular and doesn't happen too often. I understand that when it does happen it drives other threads down, but I'm not sure it's worth trying to stop. While I like the idea of a sticky or a sub-forum somewhat, I'm afraid that either will essentially kill such threads altogether. I may be wrong, but I think members kind of like hitting the board and seeing a thread about their birthday. Am I wrong in my feeling that it's something that doesn't happen so often to warrant a change? I tend to hit the BS forum a lot, and it hasn't jumped out at me.
