Happy with the Ad

slacker

Team HuskerBoard
A man went to a TV station and bought one minute’s worth of advertising time. He handed a videocassette to the station manager and learned to the second exactly when his one-minute tape would be on the station. Just before the scheduled time, the man turned on his TV set, tuned in to the correct channel and waited. At exactly the time for ad, a test pattern came on. The sound, an intense pure tone, did not change for a full minute. The picture stayed the same too. Then the man, pleased, turned off his TV set. Explain.

When you say test Pattern, do you mean something like this

He owned a paint store?

He was advertising for Close Encounters?

He owned a alternative lifestyle bar/cafe/restaurant?

He was secretly communicating with Aliens?

He was trying to piss sooner fans off during a football game for 1 minute

He was autistic (like rain man)

Someone bet him to do it?

Was this ad played during a tv show?

Is there something important about the AD?

Would it make a difference if he played it at another time?

Did the main gain anything financially out of it?

Did the AD feature a message?

Was the test pattern a secret code like the divincci code?

Was what he was doing at the time the AD played important?

Did the test pattern have anything to do with his job?

Did the test pattern have anything to do with his personal life?

hmmm..

Is the time slot he choose for a certain reason?

Is the time of day the AD is played important?

Is the time slot it played important?

Was this AD played before a show?

Was the AD played after a show?

The man was a individual who worked for the emergency broadcasting unit. The tape he handed to the TV station was a way for him to run a test of there emergency system. The ad itself would be a standard emergency signal that all stations used. The reason for the exact time would be so that guy would know for sure that the system worked and he could go back to any other duties that he may have to be doing.

if not then

Was the add the test pattern or part of the test pattern?

Bought time in a different time zone?

Maybe the ad came on right after the test pattern. It did not say that he turned off the TV exactly after the test pattern.

He is blind so he has to tune into the correct channel?
