So I flipped open the Bible a bit ago to read a random passage, as I often do. I ended up reading the 23rd Psalm. Then I went back to my desk where I had paused a youtube window earlier in the day. I had been listening to U2. I hit play and a few seconds later, voilà:

Yea, though I walk
In the valley of shadow
Yea, I will fear no evil (Lyrics from U2 "Love Rescue Me" // from 23rd Psalm)

I've heard this song a hundred times, at least, but did not realize it contained this passage. Granted, Psalm 23 is among the most popular chapters in The Good Book. Still, sort of a cool coincidence, eh?

I'd heard They found about a gazillion dead crows near my hometown of Holdrege, NE. and there was some concern that they may have died from some sort of Avian Flu.

They had a Bird Pathologist examine the remains and squeezin's of all the crows, and she confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu, However, She determined that 97% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, and 3% were killed by an impact with a car.

Officials then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine the possible reason for the disproportionate percentages for truck versus car kill...The O.B. determined the probable cause was merely when the flying rodents, I mean.. the crows found road kill, they always set-up a look-out Crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.

His conclusion was that all the lookout crows could say "Cah"...but none could say "Truck."

  • Ran out of rye whiskey. So I'm drinking from the last bottle of George Dickel No. 7 that I've been saving. Good stuff.
  • Just started reading "A River Runs Through It." Makes me want to give fly fishing a try.
  • Been looking into the Boer Wars. I bought a Boer Wars era nickel silver spur. British. Interesting conflict.
  • Started to rewatch the series Firefly on the Netflix. Also watching Sherlock Holmes. Coincidentally, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a book about the Boer Wars.
  • I built a miniature dog house today. For the family cat, Nudge (Nudzh). I'm pretty sure she's the only cat in central Illinois with a Yiddish name.

Heard about this on Todd and Tyler this morning.

Chinese boyfriend jumped to his death...

http://www.dailymail...othes-shop.html

'He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime and it was pointless buying any more.

'She started shouting at him accusing him of being a skinflint and of spoiling Christmas, it was a really heated argument.'

The shouting match ended when the man chucked the bags on the floor and jumped over the balcony...
