Our local newspaper is delivered to my house by this rather rotund, sloppily dressed woman, who looks to be about 30 years old. And you know what? I admire her for it. I mean, delivering newspapers is not a glamorous, fun or high paying endeavor. But she's out there every morning, scrabbling to earn a few bucks. Not sitting at home collecting some sort of gov't dole. She's actually contributing to society in her own small way. I think I'll give her a Christmas card with a few bucks in it. If I can get up that early.

My parents usually give their paper deliverer about $25 bucks or so. They had a guy who had some mental deficiencies for a few years and it brought him to tears that they gave him a Christmas card full of money. Pretty cool moment.

 
Gotta say our work party is legit. Wish I was feeling better and could enjoy it more, but my two managers bought me 3 shots and a beer within 5 minutes of us reaching the first after-dinner bar. Pretty awesome
